Regulations

Each year fire and life safety improvements are part of the University's projects list for residence halls
Each residence hall and all of the University Forest Apartment (UFA) blocks are equipped with a state of the art fire detection system that is wired to the central monitoring station at campus police. The fire detection system is monitored 24 hours per day
All residence halls have multiple means of egress so to minimize the possibility that more than one exit would have the potential to be blocked by any one fire
Each room in the residence halls and UFA has a system smoke detector
Fire drills are conducted two times each semester
Complete safety inspections are conducted two times per year in each residence hall room
Residential Life staff receive fire safety training

All residence halls are fully sprinkled. UFA are not sprinkled.
