University Housing
The safety of each student, especially those students living on campus, is a primary concern of the University. Environmental Health and Safety and the Richmond and Westhampton colleges deans' offices take the issue of fire safety seriously.
To ensure a high level of safety, the University adopted a Fire Safety Policy in 1987. The Fire Safety Policy is reviewed annually and new components are added in keeping with our overall belief for continuous improvements. Download the complete policy for reference.
As a resource for students and their families, Environmental Health and Safety offers information relating to fire safety in residence halls. The regulations listed here are for informational purposes only. Please consult the University's Fire Safety Policy for official regulations and information on inspections and sanctions.
